This year, the EDHEC alumni get-together has been organised in the unusual setting of the National Natural History Museum in Paris. This year's Rendez-vous focuses on diversity, and will open with a conference by renowned paleoanthropologist, Pascal Picq, from the Collège de France. The EDHECof the Year prize will then be awarded to one of the three 2008 candidates: Christelle Géhanne (maiden name, Caucheteux) (Class of 1994), Manager of the outsize, senior and fun fashion markets for Redcats, Jacques Guers (Class of 1980), Chairman of Xerox France, and Eric Legros (Class of 1981), CEO of Carrefour China.

The EDHEC of the Year Prize is awarded to an EDHEC personality who through his/her professional career path or personal activities  has contributed to the excellence, development and reputation of EDHEC at local, national or international level.

The Alumni Association invites all EDHEC members from the alumnus, students, teaching faculty to the administrative staff to send names of EDHEC alumni who embody all the qualities required to receive the EDHEC of the Year Award. Then, all the nominees will be examined by the Alumni Committee where 3 or 4 will be selected for the final vote on the big day.

Every year, EDHEC Rendez-vous is an opportunity to award the prize of EDHEC of the Year to one EDHEC alumni for his/her quality and exemplarity of his/her career. More than 1,500 people were present last year in Paris to discover the new EDHEC of the year 2007: Christophe Bonduelle, CEO of Group Bonduelle, famous throughout Europe for is processed vegetables.

Christophe Bonduelle is in keeping with prestigious leaders - to name only the most recent - Laurent Freixe, Chief Executive Officer Iberian Nestle in 2001, Gilles Normand, Corporate Vice President Nissan Motor Company in 2002; Vincent Cheney, President France-Belgium-Germany Procter & Gamble Pharmaceuticals in 2003; Franck Renaudin, director of Entrepreneurs du Monde in 2004, Michael Boumendil, president and founder of The Sixième Son (creators of audio logos)in 2005 and Christian Polge, President Coca-Cola in 2006.

The Association of EDHEC annually organizes numerous meetings to run the network in the world and EDHEC of the Year is one of the most important and oldest event of the alumni network that is being in place since 1983 awarding each year top EDHEC leaders all around the world.
